I woke up at 615! I quickly brushed my teeth and dressed up. Got my running shoes on and drove to the oval.
630.
I distinctly remember reading in the program to "leave the stretching for later in the evening or while watching tv. don't stretch before running."
I didn't understand, I don't understand why.
Am I misunderstanding anything?
Anyway so I walked 800m for warmup. After I started running.
I felt queasy running. Like my legs were still sleeping. My thighs got all lumpy and heavy. Felt really consciuos since I was trying to correct my foot strikes to avoid shin splints.
After my first, I was panting like it was the 4th round. This doesn't sound too good.
2nd. 3rd.
The pain now was too much. My legs started feeling really hard. They weren't cramps though. They just felt like they were frozen.
4th.
The shin splints were really killing me now. It felt like my shins were hit with small bamboo sticks. They felt... swollen!
5th.
Not it was my butt that was starting to freeze. Also, I was having a really hard time breathing. Maybe because it was really cold? The air felt like it was really thin. This, despite the burning heat of the morning sun. (No exaggeration here, ask any Palaweno.)
6th.
in my 46-50th second of running, I felt stinging sensations on my knees. I had to stop. I was telling myself aloud:
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
I walked another 800m before really calling it quits. During the last hundred meters, my left ankle started acting up.
I drove home. Even that was difficult!
What did I do wrong??
BREAKFAST
Felt really hungry. I was in a bad mood then, since I didn't finish the day's program.
I drove off to one of my comfort places in Palawan to have breakfast. Elmers.
one of my favorite places in the world
As usual, I had a super pares. A fat serving of fried rice, pares (of course), 3 pcs siomailettes, and beef broth soup. Oh a a tall glass of iced tea.
notice my "dual (rubber) band" mobile. hahaha. dropped it several times, hence, that.
It was enough to uplift my soul.
Today I fly off to Manila. Hope to see friends tonight!
